MONE¥I$GOD

So.. I kinda forgot to scan the cover
I'll get it done someday

2006 - MW (lossless)

The first one is just pure sonic blast mostly. Ultra-raw and heavy, sludge-noise metal.
Primitive Neurosis with Skullflower noise level and Killing Joke backbone.
The obvious better one among the two, don't miss it.

1. I Don't Kill You
2. For David
3. The Calling Out Of Soldier's Mind
4. Sencitive (My Soul)
5. Who's Next
6. The Deadly Friends (R.I.P)

2010 - M.A.R.K.Z (lossless)

Is much weirder. The line-up changed completely except for Kan (vox), and although the first track is written by Hyo Kagawa (who was the guitar player on the first album, and wrote all of it's tracks), the music is drastically different.
This is like a pub band is jamming that same sludge-noise metal (oh yes, it's still heavy), feeling liberated to go where ever they want (Ska beats, East Bay Ray surf punk guitar, you name it), especially the bass player (the best thing on this album) with his in your face bass lines after bass lines. Great remix by Balata at the end.
Could have been better with some guidance at the recording probably.

1. Cancer
2. Murasaki
3. Black Rainbow
4. Waltz
5. Hate Song
6. Black Rainbow (Monke¥ Wa$ Dubbed Remix)

Thanks to Zager for lending me his copies.

Airs

Just like the last one, this post is in the ongoing serie of me making space on my hard disk. Airs started up in San Francisco by Chris Broyles, soon to be joined by Aaron Kelley. Initially the idea was leaning towards the than freshly hyped Black/Shoegaze thing, but not only they abandoned the Black Metal early on, they kept jumping between genres in that area [post rock/post punk/noise pop/emo, you name it]. Unlike a lot of other bands from that time that were trying to imititate Alcest/Deafheaven, Airs were actually influenced by some other stuff as well, and you can hear it.
At first I was planning just to upload a few releases I had and couldn't find online at all, but than changed my mind to just post it all, and even went on to look for some stuff I didn't have. So there it is, A LOT of lo-fi, raw, immature stuff here. Most of it is solely for Airs fans, but some might be enjoyable for all, one can sure find some gems here and there.

2010.08 - Sunny Sundea Smile (My Bloody Valentine Cover) [A Curious Box of Captured Unfortunate Scenes]
2013 - Pendulum [Adore bonus cd-r]

Most of the releases since Adore and on are still available in their bandcamp, so if you need it the link is here.
While trying to complete this list, I found on soulseek some guy that has a couple releases I don't, but it seemed like he's hoarding it to himself, which was quite funny, his nickname is inhalinginhalants and I bet his mother sure is proud of him. If you're eager to get releases like: Performing "Adore" or Wind-Up , then go bug him up about it.
And yeah I'm way too lazy to start adding all the artworks for these.

Bambara

Bambara have based themselves as one of my favorite groups in the recent years, with a dazzling Three of a Kind incredible albums. I've talked about my admiration for them at least once here before, when they started to gain some more fame with their 2006 Swarm.
Most of their releases are available through bandcamp, except two early albums, for whatever the reasons are, and this post joins in the series of posts I now title "clearing albums I will never listen to off my PC, and are recommended for groupies/curiousity only". Already done this kind of posts before so I'm repeating myself here- If you by any chance never heard these guys, these albums are not where you should be starting, not because they're bad or something, but just far from representing what this band is capable of, and doing today.

If you haven't looked it up, you probably won't have a clue how long this trio is active. Reid brothers and Brookshire are working together since 2001, when they where young teens in Athens. Their perseverance is something I truly admire, they worked hard for many years and now I believe fruits are being paid off. I also love the fact you can hear through their music the process of them growing up and gaining musical influences, style changes, maturity, evolving their sound.

Debut release (actually, they've released in 2006 an album under the name 23Jinx, never heard it though) was this self titled, released when they were only 20 I believe. By far the most different one from today's Bambara, but you can still hear some glimpses. Recorded when they were still in Georgia, this one has much more alternative rock/21st century emo post hardcore vibes to it. Not bad at all, considering the young age and all.

2008 - Bambara

1. Clouds Around Our Feet
2. Shake
3. Lullay
4. Someone's Ghost
5. In The Palace Of TVs And Chairs
6. Ferocious Beasts At Play
7. Snakes In Our Hair
8. Rattling On The Cusp
9. Morning Dye
10. Native Tongue

Next came the last EP, before moving to New York City. Making the move towards post punk, pretty bad production.

2010 - Dog Ear Days

1. Repeat After Me
2. Drag Hesitation
3. Stay Gray
4. Feed The Pigs
5. Swim With The Trees
6. Chiromancy

As said, if you wanna listen to Bambara, check Swarm-Shadow On Everything-Stray 'trilogy'.
And give them your full support, these guys deserve it.
They had a pretty good momentum, hope that virus won't stop them.

Mujahideen - Dead Language

Uri Crystal, Alon Ovnat, Harel Schreiber
Local music scene here is pretty small, seems like everyone knows everyone, and every time something new gets released, it always gets praised as "original and unique" which is almost never true. Maybe, very far often original and unique when it comes to local terms, as in original in Israel, but been done in the rest of the world for a long time.
Unfortunately, the only group here which IS making Original And Unique music is being pretty much ignored by the local media, these guys I'm talking about are Mujahideen, and they are truly something you've never heard before.

Mujahideen are a trio active for a decade, made by three guys who had a few musical acts before (name dropping won't probably help make you listen to this so I won't, but their ex-works are very good as well, especially vocalist's youth band).
Alon Ovnat - vocals, screaming, yelling, muezzining, trilling, preaching + effects and noise
Harel Schreiber - bass grooves that makes their music stuck in your head
Uri Crystal - programing, beats, samples, atmosphere that puts you in trance
I've followed this brilliant trio some time before their debut ep was released in 2009, and waited up until 2014 for their first full length to be released, and if I got to wait 5 more years for their next masterpiece to come, so be it.
What makes Dead Languages a masterpiece for me ? first it's as I already said, something I have never heard being done before by anyone, anywhere.. Its themes are full with cultural references (poets, other native acts) and protest. The music is just hypnotizing, catchy, danceable, noisy yet clean and mostly very hard to define, influenced by post-punk/industrial/electronics with a mid-east touch.
This is my favorite for 2014, and probably Israel's finest album for the decade.

You can get it through bandcamp and when you'll understand you need this on physical (released as limited vinyl and cd-r) try contact Heart & Crossbone.

To satisfy my hunger for their music during those five years of no releases, I've collected some live treasures by them, so once you're hooked to the album you can get it here
